tlIowa Indian Youths Steal Cars; Break In Oil StationsFive automobiles were stolen from the following cities; Tama, Chelsea, Marengo and Belle Plaine early Sunday morning and one from Marengo early Monday morning. Besides there were three break-ins: Farm Bureau Service Station, Marengo; Standard Oil Station, Belle Plaine early Sunday morning and the Standard Oil Station, Marengo, early Monday morning.The officers and patrolmen were' searching for the thieves. These j t' youths played hide-and-go-seek up f ^ and down the streets. When'the flash!; lights and search lights of the men searching for them were on, they would hide.Two boys were missing from the Indian reservation at Tama, so the officers began to check on the Indians. They were found at Tama and are held there.When Williard San a eh c, 21, Sam Peters, 12, and Jack Wolf, 14, were caught at Tama they admitted the crimes and signed confessions, Monday evening.’Williard Sanachc .had been in the army at Camp Claiborne and had received some kind of a discharge May 1942.Some of the automobiles had been returned to their owners but one the youths had tried to make into a jeep and were experimenting with it in a corn field, then in the woods but soon landed in a ditch; this was probably their undoing.CMr. and Mrs. M. F. Bricker and family wont to Marengo Tuesday evening for a birthday dinner given in honor of Mrs. Bricker’s sister, Mrs. LeRoy Shumaker.
