Davis, formerly a citizen of Washington where he was employed, on the B. O S. W. railway either as a brake-man or a conductor, shot and killed John Dennigan in Mike Smith’s saloon ; south of the railway in this city shortly | before 11 o’clock last night.The bullet that killed Dennigan was intended for Martin Patterson, a young man nineteen years old, and the crime was the outgrowth of a quarrel and light earlier in the day.There was a free-for-all fight in Tom Davis’ saloon yesterday morning, Patterson knocking Davis down a number of times.
