ARRESTED FOR LARCENYCharles Rigney Bound Over to i the Circuit Court. 1STEALINGS COVER PERIOD OF 3 YEARSMarriage Licenaes-While Divorce Case—Rewards Offered Coart Hoaec iNew*. iCharles Rigney. aged l» years and ' residing with his wife and two small ' children on East Jefferson street, was 1 arrested by Officer Vesey Saturday evening on the charge of larceny, he hav- 1 ing stolen several bicycle parts from the Ariel works, where he has been employed for a number of years. A long time ago various articles were missed from the factory and finally suspicion was directed against Rigney. The officers shadowed him all day Saturday and officer Vesey made the arrest in front of Ulery s billiard hali, where Rigney has spent much of his time. Upon going to his home about • 515 worth of plunder was found including hubs, spokes, chains, tires, etc The tires were not identified as Ariel property. After remaining in jail until this morning the young man was brought before Justice Young for a bearing He waived examination ane was bound over to the circuit court ir i the sum of $-’00. which he could not j furnish and went back to his cell to remain until the * October term of court. Yesterday the authorities put Rigney in the sweat box. He admitted taking bicycle parts home in bis pocket andadmitted committing thefts for threlt;years past. At first he made an en-deavor to show his innocence and de clarcd he did not know how the prop erty reached his home, but afterwards weakened Rigney wa married secretly. His parents are highly respected people When brought to trial he wibprobably piead guilty and take his sentence. This is his first serious trouble and it is hoped he will be dead w:tn leniently It is said Mrs. Jacobs. Kg-neys mother-in-law, approached theofficers and told them he thought hehad property in his possession that did j not belong to him. Mrs. Jacobs hat j never become reconciled to the secret marriage of her daughter. K gney :s a good looking y« ung fellow, d.ro-es nicely and has a good education. He hn been under the eyes of the police for some time, however.
