ASKS FOR AN INJUNCTION.Mrs. Sarah Miller Files an InjunctionSuit--Olher Cases.ss*hiMrs. Sarah Miller has filed au injunction suit in the circuit court against Jeremiah Floyd asking that he and Albert Arinty be restrained from proceeding with a suit for forcible entry and detainer. She represents that she is the owner of lot 0, block 10, in Aylesworth Cobb’s addition to Mere-dosia, the same having been purchased by her six years ago and occupied ’ • by her as a homestead. On December ! y 20, 1894, Looman Bros., of Meredosia, recovered a judgment against her by the name of Ann Miller, before a justice of the peace for the sum of 124.80 and the sheriff levied on the land de-f lt;trscribed above and sold it under an execution to James K. Griffeu. She says that afterwards the sheriff executedThe case of the people against Edward Sisco has been taken up from the court of E. B. Short, one of the justices in the county. The complainant, Mrs. Mary Smith, says that on July 7 the defendant, Edward Sisco, came upon her premises and assaulted John Smith with intentto do bodily injury, and while assaulting him hrokt* his leg. He had a trial by jury and was bound over to tiie circuit court.Another of the cases which has been tiled lately i- that of the people against Frank Davis, who is charged with an assault with a deadly weapon. The complainant is Sallie Jones, who says that Davis assaulted her with a pair of brass knuckles. He was bound oyerby Justice Gray in the sum of 8200, and failing to give bond was remanded i to jail.and delivered a deed to the premises to Jeremiah Floyd as thetpretended assignee of the certificate of D purchase from James K. Griffin. She says the premises are worth not to exceed 8 150, and that the certificate of purchase and deed made under the assignment is a cloud on her title to theWfeaproperty. Under the said void sale and deed, Floyd has instituted proceedings in forcible entry and detainer, and she asks that the court grant the writ of injunction directed to Jeremiah Floyd and Albert Arinty.The case of the people against Wm. Carroll, who lives in the north part of the city, has been filed in the circuit | ce court from the court of Byron B. Gray, justice of the peace. He is charged with an assault with a deadly weapon on complaint of Annie Powderly, and after he was arrested upon a warrant charging him with the above, he was taken before the justice, where he waived examination, and was placed under 8200 bond.DDADn r\c cniiPATinM
