Jordan is wanted for theft and for questioning about any knowledge he might have concerning the murder.He is five-feet, five-inches tall weighing 135 pounds. He has blue eyes and brown hair and has a dark complexion. He is believed to still be in possession of the murder victim’s 1989 Ford Mustang which police have been searching for since Thursday when they First learned of 54-year-old Ralph Thompson’s death.Thompson’s body was discovered covered in a quilt Thursday by a neighbor outside Thompson’s 305 Smith Road address in Carrier Mills. (Nick Marianophoto)was taken by Jordan before they arrived in Missouri Monday morning at Reed’s grandmother’s house in East Prairie where both Reed and Jordan had been staying.“We only missed him by an hour,” Captain Jim Wheatcroft, of the Saline County Sheriff’s Department, said.It is unclear at this time whether or not Reed was present during the killing last week, but it is believed he and Jordan were together for sometime afterward and that theymay have been so before hand. Following a waiver of extradition, Wheatcroft and Clore left Illinois Monday morning to escort Reed back to Saline County. They returned in the county at 8:45 p.m. Monday. Reed is confined at the White County jail pending $2,500 bond.The police also recovered Monday what they believe to be the murder weapons from a pawnshop in Sikeston, Mo.“We have recovered two weapons that we believe were takenfrom Thompson’s residence, and we have suspicion were used in the death,” Clore said.Carrier Millscontractwith Saline ValleyBy CURTIS WINSTON Staff WriterThe Carrier Mills Village Board came together Monday night to sign its agreements with Saline Valley Conservation District and theCity of Harrisburg.The board, with members Ron Arnold, Bill Peck and Jim Swan and Mayor Steve Wilson, met briefly to vote to adopt the contract.Action by the board will provide a beginning to a project that will improve water service to Carrier Mills and several points south.In signing the agreement, the board approved the hook-up to a new water line from Saline Valley Conservancy District.The line will be installed on the old railroad right-of-way that parallels U.S. Route 45 south of Harrisburg. With that line, Saline Valley can extend its service to communities south of Carrier Mills. Stonefort is expected to hook on, while New Burnside is ready to connect.The Harrisburg City Council must also sign an agreement with Carrier Mills and Saline Valley. The water district is delivering water toCarrier Mills from its well at Junction via water mains belonging to the Harrisburg Water Department. Harrisburg’s city council is expected to vote tonight on whether to approve this arrangement.As a part of the project, the village, through the Southeastern Regional Planning and Development Commission, is seeking public input on environmental impact of extending the water lines.It has been determined that a portion of the project would cross the 100 year floodplain.
