1- —Charles Baptist appeared before Judge Hastings at Green Bay on Saturday and plead guilty to the charge of horse stealing and was sentenced to three.years in Waupun. His ’ partner, William Sorenson, likewise confessed and ho was given two years,; the difference in punlBhVnont being due to the fact that Baptist had previously served out a sentence in Michigan forLburglnry. The two wero caught with a span of stolen horses In Clay Bauks lust May, the property belonging to a Suamlco farmer.—Hall’s circus, which exhibited in this city on the Fourth, went to pieces at Black Creek, Outagamie county, last Friday, having played to a losing business nearly all the season. The tent and outfit was taken on an-attachmeut of . a brother of Mr. Hall’s aud removed to Appleton. Most of the people had not received their wages for a couple of months, and these had to shift for themselves as best they could.
