PUTNAM COUNTY OOut for a rideK-9 attacks officerFrom staff reports Memorial Hospital in St.WAPAKONETA—The Wa-pakoneta Police Department reported Wednesday an officer was attacked by a K-9 at the police station.Officer Calvin Schneider was bit on the face by Adam, the department's only K-9.Schneider had lacerations to his lower lip and on the bridge of nose, police reported.He was treated and released from Joint Township DistrictMarys and was expected backon duty today.The police report stated the K-9 bit Schneider as the officer was leaning over the dog to open a door.Lieutenant Barry Truesdale said this was the second biting incident involving the K-9, which is currently under a 10-day quarantine.'JYuesdale said the K-9 will return to the police department after the quarantine.
