He was taken to the State Correctional Center in Nome to await transfer to Fairbanks.AccidentDwayne Lee, a Fairbanks physician, was killed in a one-car accident at Mile 122, Parks Highway. Investigation indicates that the southbound vehicle left the roadway and overturned, totally demolishing the car. Lee’s wife and 15-year-old daughter were injured and both have been transported to Providence Hospital, Anchorage.Investigation SuspendedSince last September, the Alaska State Troopers havebeen involved in an extensiveinvestigation into the disappearance of Scott and Amy Fandel, of Sterling. Scott, 13, and Amy, 8, disappeared from their mother’s residence nearly a year ago. After conducting hundreds of interviews with everyone who had any known contactwith the children, including distant and immediate family members, the troopers are suspending active work on this case. If any new leads are found, further investigation will become active again.Accident A 1971 Pinto, operated byMichael Sherfield of Cantwell, left the roadway at approximately Mile 134, Denali Highway, and rolled over onto its right side resulting in damage estimated at $200. While Sherfield was being treated in a Cantwell ambulance, he allegedly became unruly, leaving the ambulance on foot shouting and threatening the life of the investigating trooper. He was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct and was transported to Healy Magistrate Court, where he pled guilty to the charge. He was sentenced to six days in jail, with four suspended; $200 fine, with $100 suspended; and was put on one-year probation.Arrest
