Saunders of 4011 Coconut Circle N. spent only a few hours behind bars before being released on an appeal bond.SAUNDERS was arrested last December along with Mark Alan Hendry, 19, the son of Collier County's former sheriff, and a 22-year-old man, on charges of grand larceny for stealing the engine from anBoth Hendry and Ard testified against Saunders at the trial last month.ALTHOUGH 'prosecutors contended that the stolen engine was worth more than $100 and was grand larceny, a charge with five-year maximum sentence, a six-member jury determined it was worth less than $100 and found Saunders guilty of petty larceny, a charge with a maximum sentence of 60 days in jail.Circuit Judge Charles T.
