15 CountsBy JACK KARIEJUSTICE of the Peace Harmon Puckett Jr. yesterday was named in 15 mis- m demeanor counts involving the handling of cases in his Peoria court,Earl O’Clair, head of the state driver’s license bureau, signed the complaint in a direct information filed before Superior Court Judge Jack D. H. Hays.Judge Hays issued a summons for Puckett to appear for arraignment at 9:30 a.m. Monday on. 14 counts of nonfeasance in public office and a single count of petty theft by false representation.At the same time, O’Clair filed two felony charges against 0, D. Walker, Peoria bail bondsman, in connection with cases handled by Puckett.Walker, charged previously In two similar cases, yesterday was accused-of fraudulently obtaining 52,000 from a Glendale labor foreman and $230 from another man.Ward Hanes, 58, of 617S N. 47th Ave., told Investigators hopaid Walker $2,000 for bonds for two friends who falledl to appear for trial on an assault charge, investigators learned that Pudkett had dismissed the cases and terminated the need for the bonds.Hanes said, he was tried and acquitted of the charge. He said He had signed a note with Walker m guaranteeing the bail, $1,000 for r each of his friends.Wally Kessler, deputy county attorney, said the $2,000 was paid unnecessarily since the charges against the two friends had been dismissed.HANES CLAIMED he was asked for $500 by Peoria attorney William Younger Wood for handling the cases. Hanes said he was sued by Wood in Puckett’s court for the fee which he had failed to pay.Puckett, Hanes told investigators, returned a $1,500 judgment in Wood's favor and. assessed Hanes $200 in court costs. Payment of the $1,700 still is pending., Wood also is Walker’s attorney
