APPREHENDEDiDeputy Sheriff RoyceCline’s Murderer AtHarrisburg Surrendered By Father—ArrestAnnounced At Funeral.IHARRISBURG, ILL., August 16.IIsaiah “Zebe” Taborn, negroslayer of Deputy Sheriff RoycetCline, has been captured by SheriffJohn Siuall of Saline county andis now being taken to a neighboring county for safekeeping. Mobviolence is feared here.The capture of Taborn ended asixty-hour hunt for the murderer.He crept up on Cline and Deputy Silas Rude in a dense thicket nearCarrier Mills, seven miles southof here, Friday morning and emptied the full charge of a shotgunIdsin Cline’s face. Cline died in alocal hospital throe hours later.iliHundreds in Possef! Since then Saline County hasbeen combed by hundreds of ofll-lcers and volunteers. The searchIsttended about 1:30 o’clock this af-Taborner of the murderer, who is 45, sentsword to Sheriff Small and the posse!who had the Taborn farm surrounded, that if his son was prora-ciised protection he would surrender him to the officers. This waspromised and the negro came out of a dense thicket and walked overgoto the Sheriq and surenderedSheriff Small left immediatelyfor an unknown county with hisprisoner.IThe funeral of the slain officerwas in progress at Harrisburg nod word was sent to the presidingiminister, the Rev. W. H. Whitlock,that the negro was then in custody.The crowd was the largest thatever attended a funeral in thiscounty. Masons had charge, butklansmen from Saline. Williamson, Hamilton, Franklin, Gallatinand White counties were present.Rev. Whitlock said: I desire toinform you that the slayer of thisbrave officer, who we are now put-\ting in his last resting place, is in the hands of the law.
