The man told police the maintarget of the killers was Polishwriter Voityck Frokowskv, and the motive had been the writer's deep involvement with narcotics distributors, the Los Angeles Times reported.Police would neither confirm nor deny the report. Detectives said only that investigation of the group slaying was continuing.The reported informant was described as a Polish emigre and a friend of Frokowsky. He is reported to have told police that he was invited to Miss Tate’s expensive Brentwood home the evening of the slayings. hut was unable to go because of other business.Found dead Saturday at the home were Sharon fate, 26, wife of film director and producer Roman Polanski; Frokowsky, 37; coffee heiress Abigail Folger, 26; international hair stylist lav Sebring. 35. and a youth, Steven Parent, 18. a friend of estate caretaker William Garretson.Reportedly, the informant has given officers names of at least three people thought to be either the killers or to have first hand information of the killings. At least one of those named is reported to have taken part in the slayings, the newspaper said.The precise reason for the murders was not known, however. there was speculation that a double-cross on a narcotics deal was at least part of it.At the time of the killings Polanski was in London working on a film.Caretaker May Sue For False ArrestLOS ANGELES (UPD-A young caretaker questioned in the mass murders of actress Sharon Tate and four others at her Benedict Canyon estatethreatened Friday to sue forfalse arrest.William Garretson, 19. told newsmen he went shopping for groceries, entertained a friendapd staved awake till dawn writing letters and listening to music the night of the massacre. „The victims were the pregnant actress; her former fiance, hairstylist Jay Sebring; Polish film producer Voityck Frokowsky; coffee heiress Abigail Folger, and Steven Parent,Garretson’s friend.Garretson said he was unaware of the murders until police burst into his bedroom early Saturday and led him to the bodies of Frokowski and Miss Folger, lying on the lawn, and Parent, slumped over the wheel of his car.other suspects. Homicide detectives refused to confirm or deny published reports an informant who believes he knows the killers had given them the names of three possible suspects, including an aspiring young actor.Garretson said he would sue the city for false arrest, false imprisonment, invasion of privacy and violation of his Constitutional rights.
