Against Law vraiois' Two permanent injunctions against J violators of intoxicating liquor law were obtained last last week by County Attorney F. E. Thomas. Judge House signed the decrees in both cases, and the defendants paid the costs. The enjoined persons are William II. Hayes and Waiter Hayes, of near Lsmotte. father and ‘son, and Mike Scholtes, of near Springbrook. In both cases the defendants were enjoined from further manufacturing or trafficing in intoxicating liquors, and a violation of the injunction will result in action for contempt of court. The same parties are now under bond in Federal Court, charges having been filed against them for violation ci the Volstead act.Walter Hayes, one of the above defendants, is at the present time a thirty-day visitor at Sheriff Dallas;-er's hostelry. He and Theodore Mootz, son of Jacob Moots of near Bellevue, were arrested last week on information filed by Peter Koos of Prairie Springs township, charging them with the larceny of domestic poultry. They were alleged to have invaded the Xoos chicken yard at night and to'have taken thirteen chickens, which were-sold the next day in Dubuque for $S.So. In Justice 'Ralston's court they pleaded guiltyo the charge, and were bound over :o the district court, but on County Attorney's information were taken before iudge House for an immediate hairing and sentence. Each was sentenced to thirty days in jail and to pay a fine of $100, but because of. his youth and certain family conditions .the judge paroled the Mooiz hoy to the custcdy of his father, wuh orders that he should sell his automobile and be restrained from joy. riding In any other, and be kept at home at work until the parole isdischarged.
