The money waa deposited in the bnnk until Saturday, when a new guardian will be appointed for the girl by the Probate court. To a News-Democrat reporter the other clay Carnes proclaimed his innocence, and said the whole thing waa a black mail. This morning he seemed very anxious to settle, anil ho paid tho above amount, without a murmur.
