The Grand County Colorado Tragedy.Denvek, Colo. Aug. 10.—The Grand county tragedy has a terrible sequel. It will be remembered that Sheriff Royer a few weeks ago committed suicide at Georgetown. At the time of his death there was an eager inquiry for William Redmond, one of the murderers who was wounded in the fight. It was said he was wounded in the arm and was hiding out near Grand lake. Since that time nothing has been seen or heard of Redmond and the matter has passed from the public as a current topic. During all this time there have been members of the Rocky Mountain Detective association bjsily investigating the matter and they have gone as far as Utah in their efforts to detect the criminals engaged in the terrible tragedy of the 4th of July.YeBterday . Geieral Crook received the following letter:Dog Cukkk, Ang. 8, 1883. General D. J. Cook, Denver:Dear Sir:—The body of William Redmond, of Grand lake, Grand county, Colo., is or was lying on the Thorn-bourgh road about twelve to* fifteen miles southwest of Andy Strong's ranch, about six miles from the crossing Cottonwood creek, at the west end of Blue mountain, about four miles west of the Colorodo line in the state of Utah and on the reservation now occupied by the Uncompahgre Indians. I was very well acquainted with him. I presume he would not suffer himself to be arrested and so ended his life. He was shot through the head with a Colt’s revolver 4o-calibre. The authorities of Ashley are notified ere this, I presume. For prudential reasons the name of the writer is not given.cchiceio:v
