Crews to begin new search for Asha DegreeBy Heather BarrSpecial to The GazetteBURKE COUNTY - Cleveland County Sheriff Dan Crawford announced that crews will begin a search Wednesday morning around the area where Asha Degree’s items were found in Burke County.Woods,Degree snakes,a creek and rugged terrain are just a few things that the Cleveland and Burke sheriffs’ offices, emergency management crews and the FBI will be up against.Asha Degree was 9 years old when she disappeared from her Fallston home on Valentine’s Day 2000. On Aug. 3, a construction worker reported to police that he found a book bag and other items in Burke County less than SO yards from N.C. 18. The book bag was found in a garbage bag. The book bag and some of the items were later confirmed to be Asha’s.Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office Capt.
