The officers opened fire and two bullets from Redman's gun killed* iDotson as he sat at the wheel of the ear. One shot entered his right eye and the other passed through his heart, killing his instanty. The bullet which penetrated his heart also bored thru j ( an Arkansas road map carried in his; jumper pocket, and struck a watch also carried iq that pocket. The watch deflected the bullet slightly and it passed through his heart at an angle. The other two men left their leader, ran west one block, south one mile and headed for the Cookson hill country whose every path and trail is probably known to them. They have not yet been apprehended, although a close and systematic search has been carried on for them.The body of the dead man was brought to Marble City, his home, onji1-Wednesday, of this week, and inter-lh tWD^gKtT^^^efcery. A large crowd attended the funeral. The boy was well known and had a host of friends in the north part of the county. I.Bee Dotson is the fourth member of i the family to meet an untimely endwithin the short, space of three years.
