White, at Aaheboro, last night on a charge of attempt-. «ng to assault criminally a four-n | year-old white child, it was h irn-! ed here today.Magistrate White said the alleged offense was reported to him by Mrs. Florence Shoe, mother of the child, and that he issued a warrant. The child, Lucille Shoe, ta said to have told her mother she was attacked Monday afternoon at the home of a Mr. Cook in the Prospect section of Trinity township.I Embler was arrested at 12:IS I o’clock Wednesday morning os he was asleep in the grease pit of a {filling station in the 1500 block I of English street. High Point. Local (police arrested him and turned him over to Randolph au-.ktl-1 tborlUes. but did nut i ei*«a-auyinformation about it until this morning.Magistrate White said Emblerwaived preliminary hearing and offered no testimony in his behalf. The magistrate found probable cause and ordered him held in Randolph county jail without privilege of bond.
