BOUND OVER TO CIRCUIT COUNT.Will Gok Held In the Ham of *1.000 for H hoot In* Joe Ballard.The preliminary trial of the case of Indiana against Will Gore, Gore being charged with shooting Joe Ballard with intent to kill, was held by Mayor Roth Friday evening. The principal facta in the case were published at the time of the shooting. Gore and three friends were tossing a ball on East Washington street when Ballard approached on bis wheel carrying a mortar board. To prevent being hit by a ball that wasthrown to Gore Ballard dodged, fell off his wheel, it being badiy broken by a team bitched to one of the Ice wagons. Trouble followed this Incident In which the men agreed to pay Ballard Tor his wheel and he went on to bis work. In the evening Ballard passed through the alley at the Big Four saloon and was stopped by Gore. After a few words Gore pulled a revolver trom inside his coat and fired at Ballard, the ball passing through his right arm below the elbow lodging in hiB clothing over his stomach. Gore claimed that Ballard had a knife and threatened to kill him and that he fired In self defense.In the preliminary trial Gore was defended by Thomas Campbell and Prosecutor Blair represented the State, It was shown by the evidence that Gore was the aggressor and Gore failed to show that Ballard had a knife. Mayor Roth fixed Gore's bond at $1,000 and remanded him to grand jury action. He tailed to give bond and went to jail.
