HUNTED DOWN,George Corey Captured After a Long Run.Geo. Oorey, alias C. C. Hendricks,of Sullivan county, Ind., was arrested at the city hospital, by Detective O’Haver, who clamed to have followed his mail over 800 miles. Corey is charged with the murder of Eugene Fry. committed at Alum Cave, ind., June 21st, 1894. He did not deny his identity, but strenuously disclaimed the the murder, saying that he and Fry had a fight and that in the scufiie a pistol was accidentally discharged killing his antagonist, by mere mischance. Detective O'Haver left for Cairo with his prisoner last night, by the Anchor Line Steamer St. Louis,Corey came here from Alligator Lake Miss., seeking treatment for a severe cut in his foot, received while chopping wood.The above was clipped from the Daily Commmercial Herald from Vicksburg, Miss., and was enclosed in the following letter from W. P. O'Haver.Mississippi State Hospital,Vicksburg, Miss., A ug, 9th ’05..Editor Democrat ;Dear Sir;You can say that I have under arrest the slayer of Eugene Fry of Alum Cave He was admitted to the hospital here July 23rd and as Chief Surgeon S. D* Robbins thinks he is not in a fit condition to make the long trip to Indiana.I will be compelled to bring him by river as far as possible. Enclosed find Herald account which is correct except that we did not get off at the time mentioned.I caught him here by a tell-tale address on a package sent to him. A telegraph instrument was sent from a certain point in Indiana to Clay City, and from there it was sent to Vicksburg directed thus: Mr. C. C- HendricksCare of Miss. State Hospital, Vicksburg Miss,. If not delivered return to Oliver Corey, Clay City Indiana. Will give you further particulars later.Respectfully,W. F. O’Haver.
