Indulging her bibulous propensity to excess on Sunday evening last, she seemed desirous of becoming the centre of attraction, under rthe delusion, perhaps, that she was “theI glass of fashion and the mould of form.*’iInspired by Bacchus, at whose shrine she is a faithful devotee, to give specimens of her oratorical powers, she regaled the ears of many of our citizens, on Main street, with speeches rather freely interspersed with expressions not usually considered embellish, ments to language, and threw herself inton n 'attitudes which ill comport with feminine*grace and modesty. On Monday morning, through the irresistable persuasion of Depu tv Sheriff Burrows, she was introduced to bis honor, Justice Danielson, at whose solicitation twelve of our citizens held a consultation on the propriety of Mary’s behavior. They reported to his honor, and on Tuesday she was assigned a cool apartment in the County Hotel, in charge of the gentlemanly propri etor, Captain Hopping, where f r twentyiug the virtues of cold water as a beverage,: and musing on the spiritless solitude of her! present residence.
