Faraday, each 16. in a lovers' lane shooting last Dec. 20.He also claimed he had slain Mrs. Darlene FcrrSn. 22, who was shot to death jn another lovers' lane killing near here July 4. Her male companion was wounded, hut has recovered.Police confirmed the killings.The coded message remained unreadable until last weekend, when a Salinas high school teacher, Donald G. Harden, announced he had cracked it.The president of Ihc Ameriran Cryptogram Association, Dr. D. C. B. Marsh of ihe Colorado School of Mines, said he had checked Harden's translation, agreed with it and war. convinced the encoder was a man who fcrew what he was doing. -
