Theaters CompanySues Herbert WheatonIn belief that a letter alleged to have been published in the Jan. 31, 1935, edition of the Hokah Chief, Minnesota weekly paper, contains libelous statements, the La Crosse Theaters company has brought suit against Herbert E. Wheaton, editor and publisher of the paper. One suit, for $2,500, is for compensatory damage, while another for §7,500 is for punitory damage.„ L. «7. Brody and the firm of Hale and Burke are representing the Theaters company.Attorney Q. H. Hale said Thursday that Mr. Wheaton had been subpoenaed to produce the name of the writer of the letter, as well as writers of similar letters alleged to have been published attacking the Theaters firm.
