Hamman was the father of ten children by two former wives, five of them having preceded him in death. He was a native of Campbell township, this county, where he owned a good farm. He was an' eccentric always and of late years had delusions that might be put down as signs of incipient insanity. He was past seventy yesrs old, while his victim was a few years short of fifty.The married life of the Hammans was anything but a happy one from allaccounts. Quarrels and an occasional fight marked their matrimonial voyage from its beginning to the final wrecking of it all.
