Attorney Named To Defend PickettThe Tipton circuit court has appointed attorney, Floyd Harper and ; county attorney, Richard Regnier, to defend Clarence O. Pickett. Pickett is charged with second degree murder in the shotgun slaying ofMrs. Margaret Smith, last May. Pickett appeared before the courtand stated that he was without\(unds to retain an attorney for his defense. He was recently released • from an Indianapolis hospital where he received treatments for a shotgun wound in his side.The Smith woman was killed byj a blast from a .410 shotgun following what police believe was aheated argument between her and the accused Pickett.
