Gibeon, naked Mrs. G- to keep the child until •he did some trading. Having disposed of the child, she and Dorn Heed, of Montlcello, another female of easy virtue. proceeded to take in the saloons. In the course of their rambles they “mashed” Big John Baker, and accompanied him to the Bishop dive on Eel River avenne. Mr. Gibson, at whose residence tbeBarnesdale woman bad left her child, saw the trio pass the Johnston bouse about 7 o'clock, and , becoming suspicious, “took the trail” ( and saw them enter the Bishop bouts. When Mr. Gibeon went to his supper he found the child of the depraved woman crying as though Its heart would 1 break. After waiting until late In the evening, his patience gave out and he oatne ever to the eity and laid the case before Capt, Morrissey, by whose or- i der the Bishop dive was pulled. Baker paid the fines assessed against the wo- ,men.
