The two boys, in company with Clifford Rogers, Frank Rogers, W illiam Johnson, Charles Swain and George Walters, friends about thoir own ago, went fishing.Lewis Rogers had a slingshot with him and threw u stone from it, which struck Cann's hat and knocked it off. Cann re-son tod the liberty and struck Rogers, who walked a short distance and then fell to the ground while in the act of picking up a stone. His companions found him Insensible and gasping for breath and tried every means in their power to restore him to consciousness. Finding their efforts of no avail, yuung Cann hurried to the house of Thomas Bftatty, which was near by, and gave the alarm.— T-ha-affalr occurred- about amilennda quarter from this.village, and Beatty lias tened to town and brought Dr. James Gilbert to Rogors’ assistance.
