Press)SAN ANTONIO, Aug. 4.—While scores of shoppers thronged about them, W. A. McArthur, 54, shot and killed Mrs. Ida Wilson, 28, and committed suicide on San Antonio's busiest street corner this afternoon.According to Miss I’earl Warren, a sister of the dead woman, she and Mrs. Wilson were discussing a dress shown in the window of a big department store when McArthur approached. He had been 'cry friendly with Mrs. Wilson for aeveral months, hut had quarreled with her recently, Miss Warren said.A brief argument ensued during which McArthur drew a .38 calibre revolver and fired two shots. As Mrs. Wilson fell he lurched to the curb ten feet away and fired two bullets into his brain.(By The Associated Brens)WACO, Aug. 4.—Friends and relatives today attended funeral services for Miss Charley Lawson, 24-year-old clerk, first victim of tragedy that claimed the lives of two women yesterday in the offices of the Waco News-Trihune and Times-Herald.Miss Lawson, killed when twQ bullets from a small pistol struck her, was laid to rest in the cemetery near the Lorena, ten miles from Waco.Mrs. Nora Ashworth, wife of R. . Ashworth, cashier of the two newspapers, who walked calmly into the business office and fired the shots into Miss Lawson’s body and then ! took her own life with poison, probably will he buried here tomorrow. Her husband is still shaken by the tragedy. jAlthough an inquest was conducted ■ by Justice of the Peace J. J. Padgett yesterday afternoon he had not yet given his official verdict today. IVirginia Ashworth. 18-months-old daughter of the Ashworths, was reported out of danger today from the acid which her mother attempted to force down her throat after she had fatally wounded Miss Lawson and herself almost drained the contents nf the bottle.
