Trying To Search Auto, Officer KilledCobb town.—An attempt by Deputy Sheriff Wade Coleman of this county to search an automobile in which the Sikes brothers and Kelty Collins were driving, near here, resulted in the death of Coleman and the seriou« wounding of Abe Sikes. It is said that Sikes grappled with Coleman and that during the struggle Collins fired three shots from a rifle, one of them striking Sikes in the thigh and the other two passing through Coleman’s' head. It is also alleged Vhat after Coleman had fallen a load of buckshot was fired into his prostrate body by other members of the party. The entire party was carried to the jail in Reidsville.
