ircc wab \ac fjniy9 t --—Last Friday Abe Sellers ot Williamsport had his wile, Naoma, arrested, charging her with assaulting her step*-daughter, by running her down the street and throwing a tea cup at her. The evidence clearly showed that the defendant had committed the assault, but Justice Powell acquitted her on the ground that he will not under any circumstances convict a woman. Should a man aspire to and hold the position of Justice of Peace and refuse to inforcc the law? Did not Mr. Powell violate his oath of office in such refusal?
