A V/AU^I IU LMHLF.George Davis has Something to Say Aboutthe Hedges Case.Terre Haute, July 30,1886.Editor Terre Haute Gazette—Permit me through the columns of your paper to correct a grand mistake that appeared in the Express a few days ago in regard to the Hedges abortion case The writer has only been waiting to see what course the authorities would take in regard to the case and it seems to have faded into oblivion and the case lies on innocent parties and now thewriter feels that he has been greatly outraged while the guilty parties go free and no reason for it only as the Expresses it, his and her respectable people. Now as Mr. Hedges has smuggled this case up a3 he thipks I propose to state to the public just the facts in this case.On Juiy 13, ’86, Mr. Hedges and Miss Hickson came to my house she stating she had come to pay us a visit On-the morning of the second day she complained of being sick and said Mr. Hedges had given her medicine. We toldher if she was sick and needed medicine we would call in our doctor. Then she said she knew what she waB doing and so did Hedges. He came and visited her from two to three times a day until Saturday, she all the time denying there was anything wroug with her. Saturday evening the writer on going home found Mr. Hedges and Dr. Hoodat her bedside. They then and there tried to get us to vacate the room which we bluntly refused to do. Then the Doctor turned and stated that our suspicions were correct. She then made aconfession to the writer and family stating that Mr. Hedges had given her medicine to produce an abortion aud that Hedges had said be could do the horrible deed and we would not find it out. These are facts which the writer can back if necessary. Yet these wolves in sheeps clothing are roaming at will with the letters of murder written in blood upon their brow. Murder. Yes more than murder. There is nSt a single word in the English vocabulary that the writer can call to memory that would fit their case. If there is one place in the regions of the damned that is more horrible or more polluted with the cries of lost souls than another, into that plpce will the souls of such people go.George Davis.rnRM TiiMfli rctheref doilar, eidianTHE Pre garim to gel ality.bill cc dent £ or dis of exp ed re\ the ol ernme that t autho ary p autho Presilt; will a dent 1 this si New 7 passec many has j Cleve]it.
