CRIME.An Aged Ulan Beaten nearly to Heath, near Stewartavllle, Bio.The St. Joseph papers of a few days ago, give' the particulars of a murderous assault made upon Mr. Shelton Holman, an old citizen 65 years of age, near Stew-artsvillc, Buchanan county, on Sunday eyening of last week. Mr. Holman had ridden to the house of a neighbor on some errand, and was sitting on his mule, when two brothers; named Wilson, rode up and without any previous notice commenced an assault upon him, knocking him from his mule with a revolver and continuing the attack until he was left senseless with his collarbone broken and his thighbone fractured, beside innumerable bruises on his head and body. A rebuke administered to the Wilsons for some remark about a woman, is believed to be the cause of the attack. The atrocity of the assault of the Wilsons, who are young men, is aggravated by the fact that Mr. Holman, in addi-nn and. on apension from the Government by reason of wounds received in the battle of Prairie Grove, Ark., where he was shot in the J right shoulder, and his shoulder blade and jmriwne -shattered-that both had to he.
