MORE FACTS ABOUTTHE LATE SHOOTINGPete Wallace, of Yardell, who was in Harrison yesterday gave us the following account of the shooting of George Cross by Dave Smith Sunday night.■ The shooting, he said, occurred j,Saturday night just after dark at 01 near George Cross’ home. After it had occurred Dave Smith, who had just shot Cross, called up Pen Carver, keeper of a store at Carver post office not far from the scene of the tragedy, and told him that he had shot Cross, who had fallen on the spot, and that he did not know how badly he was hurt and that he had bbtter go and see to him. It was nine o’clock next morning before Carver and his companions reaened the, scene of the shooting and found Cross dead with five bullets in h.s stomach. After this Smith was arrested.The exact location of the tragedy is near Vendor on the Jefferson highway on the road from Jasper to Big Buffalo.
