CHARGED WITH GRAND LARCENY.Chas. Legs Attempted to Steal CarLoad of Stock.Charles Legg, formerly Big Four station agent at Lizton, was arrested at Shirley Saturday and taken to Danville and lodged in jail to answer an indictment for grand larceny.The charge grows out of an attempt to steal a car load of hogs from Bailey Leak of Lizton last December. Legg’s bond was placed at $500, which he was unable to give.rrLeg made out a false way billon a consignment of hogs which Bailey Leak were shipping to Sedgwick Co. at Indianapolis, which resulted in the stock being sent to Tolin, Mattern Co.IThis firm received a letter signed “R. R. Jones” which instructed them to dispose of the stock and forward the receipts to Pittsboro. i The scheme was discovered before the money was forwarded ; and an investigation resulted in the discharge of Leg by the railroad company. The grand * jury then took lip the mat tor and !l .'returned a bill against him. It ■ is said tliai lie admits the charge.
