Justice Court.Monday morning Constable Langton was called up over the phone and asked to come to Carrizozo and take into custody Engineer F. S. Simmons, charged with carrying a deadly weapon. Mr. Langston and Justice of the Peace Tompkins went down and secured a warrant for Simmons, arrested him under the charge, and following a plea of guilty, fined him $50. Then warrant was issued against Pete Liston, colored, charged with assualt and battery, Mrs. McBride being the victim of his black wrath. He was fined *25 and costs of suit. Following the remittance he became afflicted of nervous prostration and is now seeking health in Alligator county, Florida.The circumstances were as followsListon's wife and Mrs. McBride, a waitress in the eating house, had some difficulty and Liston took up the quarrel for his wife, and Engineer Simmons showed the N'egro his peace maker which was a 45-caliber six-shooter the racket stopped, and Justice Tomkins and his Constable did rest.
