S. district judge he was “tired of being a political football” was sentenced Wednesday to serve two years in prison for income tax evasion.Martin Hover, 65, Washburn,I had been convicted by a jury March 27 on two counts of evading payment of $1,818.57 in income taxes for 1946 and $6,326 41 in federal income taxes for 1947.Hoyer’s bookkeeper, Chester j Ferguson, 56, also convicted was placed on three years probation.Judge Charles J Vogel pronounced sentence after denying a motion to set aside the jury’s verdict.
