BARR TOWNSHIP BOYWas Assaulted at Loogootee—His Assailant Escaped.Saturday evening Walter Brown, a sou of Rosenberry Brown, and a young man somewhat troublesome to the authorities in the past, had trouble with Deinire Seal, the sixteen-year-old son of Oliver Seal, in Barr township, says the Loogootee Tribune. Brown attacked the lad at Larkin’s store and proceeded to land him a couple of licks and exhibit a revolver, according to the boy’s story.Monday young Seal aud a friend filed affidavits against Brown for assault and battery and carrying concealed weapons.The warrant for his arrest was given to Marshal Gardner and he proceeded with a deputy to the plant of the Loogootee Glass Sand Company where the offender was atf work. The limb of the law advanced cautiously as he neared the sand pit but Brown saw him first and then according to all accounts of the bystanders there was such a race as few men have opportunity to see. The rocks and brush and ditches up Boggs’ creek bottom were as pebbles to the runners—and the Marshal never caught him.
