Judges of theCircuitCourt for Anne Arundel county In \ ursuance of our duty we have visited and inspected tlie jail, and have much pleasure in attesting to its neatness and general good order, and so far as possible, to the comfort of the prisoners. The very limited accommodation and great number of prisonersconfined therein make it imposille that thev should all have flit- neeessar roomfor comfort or health that we deem absolutely essential. The whole building is in a most insecure condition, and we are verymuch astonished that many of the prisoners have not availed themselves of what seems to us would be so easy an escape —We would therefore recommend that as soon as possible the pecessary ste ps be taken to render the jail more secure. We would also earnestly impress upon theCounty Commissioners through the llon-horable Judges of the Court the necessity that at present exists for providing suitable accommodation for such prisoners, asmay, from time to time, require sanitarytreatment. II. M. Murray, Foreman.” After the reading of the report t lie Grand Jurors wqre discharged by Judge Miller, having finished their labors and framed 101 indictments, the sitting lasting nine days.
