Tall Southerner Will Not Accept Loan When BrokeFloyd Parham, 26, six feet four inches tall and claiming to be a woodsman, who recently arrived in Fort Bragg from Louisiana, is in the county jail charged with cashing several checks drawn on a bank in Scotia, Humboldt county, where he had no account.All Checks Small.The checks he signed in his brother’s name, by himself. The amounts were all for less than $5 and the total does not exceed $20, at least of those thus far accounted for.Brother Made Good.Mr. Parham claimed he will be able to secure the amount to make them good and states he has done the same thing before and his brother has made good.Case Needs Investigation.Before Floyd Parham is sent to prison his case should be thoroughly investigated, as the man is undoubtedly lacking in mentality.Was Queer Acting.Before he was arrested he went into the place of business of a well-known Fort Bragg man and asked have a check cashed. The proprietor looked at the check, observing it was drawn on a Coast National Bank check form, but had been altered to read payable on a Scotia, Humboldt. county, bank. It was signed with Mr. Parhafti.^brother's name, by Floyd Parham, and was for $2.50.
