Moore, of Franklin county and they took up their abode ir Jackson township, just across fchlt; river from Wawasa. Patterson hai two sons by a former wife, and bu little is known of hiB wife’s history although it is said that she has onct been in an insane asylum.At an early hour, this morning persons living just across the rivei from the PattersoDS, were disturbed by the sound of a pistol Bbot whict seemed to come from the Pattersot domicile. A few moments later Pat terson rushed out of the house, yell ing for help, and the laBt seen of him he was breaking for tall timber at t twenty knot clip. Very soon aftei the woman came out of the house, displaying arrevolver,and was followed by Patterson’s seventeen-year-old son, with a shot gnu. After ripping out an oath, the boy said “You cau’t shoot my father,” and then be tired the shot gun at the woman. She disappeared in the woods in the same direction takea by the man.No one seemB to know whether or not either of the shots took effect. At laBt accounts the boy was in possession of the house, and nothing wasknown as to the whereabouts of the man or woman.Affidavits will probably be made this evening or to morrow, and the matter will then be probed in the court.
