Task force arrests two for alleged meth labThe Daily Inter LakeThe Northwest Drug Task Force arrested two people Wednesday for allegedly manufacturing metham-phetamine.Carson Newman, 49, and Margaret Newman, 55, were arrested at a home at 55 Many Lakes Drive.Acting on a tip, officers entered the home with a search warrant and reportedly discovered a metham-phetamine laboratory. The drug was being made by the use of red phosphorus,according to Undersheriff Chuck Curry.Both were charged w'ith operation of a clandestine lab. Carson Newman was also charged with possession of metham-phetamine.Kevin Burns of the drug team said deputies found about two grams of the illegal stimulant on Carson Newman.Burns said officers believe the laboratory has operated for about three months.
