Deputy Nollie Robinson»was badly beaten in the healt;l by an infuriated won Kin.The family of lxxtieggers were named bowman, and ofthis family the mother, Annie, is dead, shot through the head.Bertha, a daughter, is shot through the body, and will probabledie, and Clarence, shot through the left shoulder, and Sorr.shot through the left arm.Sheriff Howard in company with Ieptitirs Nollie Robinson and Arthur Shepjxjrd went to the home of the Cowman'sthis morning to make a raid for liquor.The story as gathered by a reporter of the journaland Review who went To the scene at once, and aftermter- ■viewing a number of people was gathered as follows*A Air. It seems thatSheriff Howard, according to one story, was shot in the house,but from other reports, he met his death in the yard, juM to theright of tlu* negro house,*On the side of the house, just above where the bodyotthe Sheriff was found was a numiier of bird shot.
