LEV* ROGERS IN TROUBLE.Pucker*’ Pleads Guilty Tc Petit Larceny AtBurlington.“Pucker” Regers, who as a boy and young man made Mt. Pleasant his home, and who used to be a 'amlliarfigure in police court, Is about to goto the penitentiary again. The Bur lington Hawkeye has tne following to say about him:Levi Rogers, indicted for breaking and entering,yesterday pleaded guiltyto petty larceny, and this was accepted by County Attorney Kuhlemeier, Rogers was indicted for breaking Into aC B car and stealing some brass fixtures from a pile driver Butthere was some question whether the burglary charge could be proven, and as the articles stolen were worth lessthan $20 it was possible that lie could nor have been convicted of more thanpetty larceny.It Is not Improbible, however, that R gers may besenttothe penitentiary under thehabitualcriminal iaw It wasalleged in the Indictment that he had been convicted twice of larceny, andthis is aumitted by the prisoner.
