Whitmire said he had no reason to believe the murder of Caryn Campbell was connected to the Zodiac killings.‘‘This is the first I’ve heard of the Zodiac killer,” the sheriff said Wednesday. ‘‘If this fellow (Carlstedt) says there may be a connection, he must know something I don’t.”The body of Miss Campbell, 23, was found Feb. 17 alon^a road leading to Aspen. The Michigan woman disappeared a month earlier from the lobby of a ski lodge when she went to her room to get a magazine. Authorities questioned the victim’s fiance, with whom she had been vacationing, but said they had no leads in the case.On March 15, 28-year-old Julie Cunningham disappeared when she left her home to visit a friend’s apartment. The woman has not been found and officials said they were not sure she had been kidnaped.‘‘She left to go to another apartment and nobody’s seen or heard from her since,” an Eagle County deputy sheriff said. ‘‘She just disappeared.”
