CRIMES AND CASUALTIES.DESTRUCTIVE FIRE IN OMAHA.Omaua, April 23—At 12 o’clock last night, a fire was discovered la the rear of the Pioneer block, in some frame additions. A furious gale was blowing from the northat tae time, driving the flames into the block, and making it impossible to save anything. The entire block was destroyed except a portion owned by P. H. Sharp Bro , which, with their stock of leafier, was badly damaged by water. Loss fully covered by insurance. C. F. Goodman, druggist, loses building and stock, *60,000; insured $20,000. J. J. Lehman, pawnbroker, loses building and stock, $18,000; pait of the stock was saved; near ly covered by insurance. Among the uninsured things was$5,000 WORTH OF DIAMONDS.The section of tae building owned by Mr. Pattee was t Rally destroyed; loss, $10,lt;XKJ; insured for $4,500. CreighUn’s hall was slightly damaged by wst.r and fire. The occupant, McKelliga, liquors, cigars and tobacco, was all insured. The tire was doubtless the work of an incendiary.
