He and Mrs. Betty Lansdown Fouquet also are charged with abandoning another of her children, Jody Lansdown, beside a Bakersfield, Calif., freeway last Oct. 25.The same jury that convictedFouquet resumed deliberations today on his sentence-life imprisonment or death in the gas chamber.Cravens told the jury the area where he found Jody in the early morning hours was isolated,’’ about a mile from the nearest home or business.The prosecution attempted to call Jody to testify against the man convicted of killing her older brother, but Superior Court Judge Adolph Alexander ruled that she was too young to understand the oath.During Fouquet’s trial, theprosecution charged the maintenance mechanic beat Jeffery for three weeks and drank beer and watched television as theboy died lying on the floor.F ouquet’s former employer at a metal shop, Hobson V.
