Ebtnezer Alexander, of 7albct County, was tri ed for killing John Campbell in a Fij*ht lad Oober Meeting: It appeared from the Evidence, that Alexander gave Campbell no other Affront than by endeavoufing to make Peace between two Men who Campbell wanted fhould fight} this fo enraged him that he infifted on fighting Alexander, who prudently endeavour’d to avo d him ; but the other purfuing him from Place to Place with a great deal of ill Language, and Alexander fir ding it impcffible to get rid of him without Blows, at length engaged him ; when, after a Ihort Contiff, they parted, ar d Campbell died about a Quarter of an Hour af ter. The Jury acquitted him in lefs than a Minute.Lad Thutfday, while tw_o Men were at the Barfor Horfe dealing, one John Broughton, at theCourt-Houfe Door, pilt; k’d a Lari’* Pocket of hisPocket Book, wherein he had juft before feen him put about fourteen Shillings i but being immediately de'eded, he was lad Saturday tried for the fame, and found Guilty.
