Women get off with hung juryWin. White started as Justice of the Peace on January 1874. Oct. 25, 1875 saw an action by the People against Mary Ann Newell by complaint of W.P. Vernon for an unspecified misdc-meunor. On Oct. 26 a not guilty verdict was rendered due to a hung jury.On Oct. 26, 1875, A.A. Ver*' non was brought up on charges of ’ exhibiting a deadly weapon by complaint of W.P. Newell against Mrs. A.A. Vernon. On Oct. 27, the trial was set for Oct. 30. Case dismissed due to a hung jury.
