Judge Denies Benetti Motion for New TrialDenying a defense motion* for a:i new trial. Federal. Judge F. H, Nor* cross' yesterday set April 2G as- the' time for sentencing Angelo Benetti, j Reno slot machine and liquor dealer, on a charge of income tax evasion.Benetti was convicted on three counts of income tax evasion following a jury trial in th federal court recently. Samuel Platt, defense attorney, immediately filed a motion for a new trial. The government•claims Benetti owes approximately $25,000 in income taxes and penalties for the years 1029, 1030 and 1931. -
