The Circuit CourtCourt adjourned on Saturday last until today.The following cases were tried aftei our last issue before adjournment:State vs. John Green. Indicted for rape. Tried by jury and found not guilty. Merrick for Creen, Magrudei for State.State vs. Raymond Carver. Indicted for being an accessory to Maggy Howard Batson in killing her child. Trieo by Court and found not guilty.The trial of William Dent occupiec the attention of the Court on Thursday of last week and a night session which lasted until nearly midnight was helc in order to get through with the case. Dent was indicted for murdering Joseph Curtis, his brother-in-law, by shooting him in the stomach with a pistol on the night of February 4th last, from the effects of which Curtis died in the Casualty Hospital, Washington. The largest crowd that ever attended a triai here was present. Dent was defendeo by Judge Clagett, and Messrs. Alan Bowie and Robert W. Wells, while Mr. Magruder appeared for the State. The jury was out about three-quarters oi an hour and rendered a verdict of guilty of man-slaughter. Dent was sentenced on Saturday to the Maryland Penitentiary for 5 years.
